Doan Trevor Custom Rifle Building

I tried to purchase a new buttplate like this, but it became a daunting task…… too difficult, too proud, and too expensive.  I decided to make one.  This is half done and will be refined.  The red color that you see is It will adapt to one of my adjustable butt plates.

Thanks to Rick Curtis, here is a link to lots of  photos that he’s posted of the match.

Especially our hometown of Syracuse, which set a record today as the city with the highest snowfall total so far this season of 113 inches.

Doan is in Phoenix this week at the Berger Match.  I’ve been gardening this week.  No snow here…… we don’t even own a snow shovel anymore.

The single shot adaptors on the 52C’s are no longer available, so the magazine breech guideblock needs to be adapted to a single shot configuration as in the D’s and E’s, and it’s a good idea to add the recoil lug which involves making the #9/32 TPI Winchester screws. Who would ever come up with that screw and thread design?

I think from time to time I’ll post something a bit different.  Just for a change from the typical gun pics.
