I’ve putting Clare to work, she shot and edited a video for me.
This is a simplified version of what actually happens when I go through this process. A Â lot of these tools I made myself years ago, before they were available commercially. The threading tool I did purchase.
Take a look here:
Here is the original post, go ahead and read if you haven’t, yet:Â READ ME!!!!
I’ve finally finished this up and shipped it out. Even remembered to get photos of it!
Clare and I took video of me truing the action on this rifle. Â Also, have video of feeding and ejecting empties that we’ll post tomorrow.
Fitted this one with a PTG bolt with Sako extractor.

I’ve been working on the trophy. I need to find a fierce brass wildcat aka bobcat. All the ones I’ve found are too cute. Let me know if you have seen one. Thanks!
Clare has been here for awhile and we are having a Barn Burner.
Cleaning out the garage. Need to be able to turn around to keep making more stuff!
Here’s what’s left from the first round on GunBroker.com:
I’ll be putting more stuff up in a couple days.
Here’s a nice piece of Walnut. It is multi-colored, has strong grain with flowers and little burls.

I played hooky for a few minute from wood and metal working!

Recently, I received this rifle to bed and refinish. I made made a few new parts for the harness. Not only do I do woodwork, I also do metal work. Another project is in the books! Soon to be shipped off to it's owner.

Off-Set Sights are great when you can see better out of you non-dominant eye…. and you want to continue shooting.
I make also make off-set scope mounts to go with the sights.

Three pieces of wood were selected for this project and set out to view. It was an unusual day in New Mexico as it rained. The piece of wood that the customer selected was not necessarily the one that I would have chosen, however it turned out to be a beautiful piece of wood with Fiddleback and Burl.
Since Barnard actions are so precision made, I don’t require the action, and can build the rifle without the action.
Repeat customers are very important to me. This is also the owner of the stock in the previous post post.

This Rifle was previously won in 2007. It is 10 years to the date from when I built it that I've refinished it.

One of the Stocks has turned out to be a beautiful piece of exhibition grade Claro walnut. The other one is a piece of Claro Walnut that had a huge knot in the back of the stock that looks like a universe. They are two outstanding pieces of wood for right-handed stocks and I'm waiting for a customer for each of them.

Precision Turbo Action

Trudie used her favorite sling rifle. I re-barreled the rifle for her last year

. She shot 112 X's out of 180 shots. That is 62% X's. Lige used a spruce stock, that I made for him a few years ago.
A special thank you to Tom Alves for the Trigger donation and Gary LaValley from Phoenix Precision for the Phoenix rear sight donation. This stock can also be used for F/TR. it will be at the Spirit of America Match Wednesday morning – Eagles Nest.

Still carving……. more pics

The desert ironwood strips have been inlaid on the stock and I have started to carve the rest of the stock. By scribing lines with the saw and using a wood chisel a lot of wood can be removed to get the shape of the stock.

Thank you to Gary LaValley from Phoenix Precision for the contribution! http://www.phoenix-Precision.com.
